Restorative Justice Conferences are opportunities for those who have caused harm and those impacted by the harm to reach a mutual understanding of the incident and repair the harm that was done. SAVE's Community Education team is trained by the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) to facilitate Restorative Justice Conferences. Conferences are facilitated in order to repair serious forms of harm such as theft, vandalism, fire, etc.
Prior to the conference, our team would meet with those who caused the harm, those impacted by the harm, and the support persons who would also attend the conference. These initial meetings provide the opportunity to gain an understanding of the incident, determine whether those who caused the harm have admitted to causing the harm and are willing to participate in the conference, whether those impacted by the harm are willing to participate in the conference, as well as assess for any safety concerns.
We look forward to serving you!
